The Nerang-Murwillumbah road was also called Advancetown after nearby pub or Hinze raceway as it was popular with the wanna be racers two or four wheels. With such a nice set of curves and excellent surface it was always a nice ride but the police became very heavy handed in this area I started to avoid this riding over Springbrook and down Pine Creek road. This continues into the Numinbah valley which is very scenic and remains one of the best rides in the Gold Coast. You can find this on the map by expanding it to full screen and using the list of roads then shown in left column

These ‘good road’ posts were published 2006-2008. At some point the original images and descriptions became out of date and I moved overseas. I archived them here to update when I ride Australia again. This collection is just my own personal riding records, not a definitive list.

    1. there has been a lot of work along this road over the last year or two but not much work on the road. the hinze dam upgrade has added an intersection, i think its a road to a boat ramp that is usually closed as it has a gate. the road at this point has new tar but the rest of it has deteriorated.

its a great road overall but there is a pot hole very hard to avoid on the last 60k left heading north which has been there for well over a year.

    2. the pot hole has been repaired

    3. You can find this road and all my road listings on the new map I have added using the side menu.
