My local rides from Brisbane have returned to the blog upscaled. These were casual posts never containing anything meaningful yet the blog gained a small following and the photos proved popular prior to people posting everything to social media so I decided to try salvage the images.

With software like Topaz Gigapixel (no affiliation) it is possible to take old low resolution images and enhance them in ways previously impossible. Most of the ride images were modest 1024px, a few just 400px thumbnails that Google lost the originals yet I am pleased with the results of simple batch processing.

I managed to restore about 350 photos in 64 rides that ventured north to Gympie, west to Texas, south to Alstonville and most places in between. The rides took place on my Honda CB1100, Buell XB12 Firebolt and MV Agusta Brutale 750 from 2013 to 2006. Prior to that the years seem lost despite doing some interesting rides on my Buell XB9 and Triumph Speed Triple. I was into video then, something I regret now.

I had been hopeful of riding these places again but the Australian government has made getting home all but impossible so instead I revisit virtually via these posts (click the link to view).
